Climate protection work, aimed at creating a safer, more sustainable, and responsive city has been undertaken by many sectors of eThekwini Municipality. The intention of this booklet is to provide delegates and other visitors to Durban attending COP17/CMP7 with a first point of reference for a range of these projects. It is not a comprehensive listing – but does give a sense of the broad range of cross-sectoral interventions that the Municipality is engaged in. It also highlights the fact that at the local level it is not possible to separate the climate protection agenda from the sustainability agenda.
