The US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the US Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) recently released the results of new scientific assessments related to community water fluoridation. HHS has proposed changing the recommended level of fluoride in drinking water to the lower end of the current optimal range. As a result of these findings, USEPA announced it is initiating a review of the maximum level of fluoride allowed in drinking water.
