6th World Water Forum Kick-Off Meeting

6th World Water Forum Kick-Off Meeting

International Forum Committee for the 6th World Water Forum

Wed, 02/06/2010 / Fri, 04/06/2010

A first opening ceremony will be held in Paris, France on 2 June 2010, followed by a working meeting on 3-4 June 2010 in Marseilles, France.

The Kick-off meeting will be an opportunity for you and your organization to contribute with your ideas and experience in the very first step of the preparation of the 6th World Water Forum (Marseille, 2012). A detailed programme and logistical information will be sent to you in the coming weeks, but please be sure to save the date now on your calendar.

The 6th World Water Forum will build upon previous Fora, but it will go further, seeking to identify, promote and implement concrete solutions and actions for water and sanitation.

Through this event, we wish to create a willingness and appetite for all stakeholders to contribute to and engage in the 6th World Water Forum process. During the kick-off, discussion and exchange on vital questions and issues will help orient the preparatory process and its focus on "Solutions for Water." We invite you to start thinking along those lines within your organization and networks, and bring to the kick-off your ideas both on content and processes towards a successful organization of the Forum.

In addition, it will be the opportunity to learn more about what will make this Forum unique, in particular its emphasis on solutions and citizens involvement, and about the processes that are envisaged to build the 6th World Water Forum together. We will depend on participants to help spread the word throughout different regions and sectors so that the 6th World Water Forum will find its strength through its diversity.
