Wed, 17/03/2010 / Thu, 18/03/2010

In order to include young Europeans into the debate and discussions at European policy level, to promote democracy and citizenship and to exchange know-how based on local and regional initiatives a European Youth Water Summit is taking place for the first time at the European Parliament in Brussels in March 2010. This summit will give the floor to young citizens coming from 27 EU member states, accessing as well as other European countries and aged between 15 and 25 years to share and discuss water community challenges, needs and priorities with European decision makers – the new Members of the European Parliament, the representatives of the incoming European Commission as well as the Council Presidency.
Simulating the debates and decision making of the European Parliament during these two days young Europeans will be working together on policy recommendations outlining how to best realize the aims of the Water Vision for Europe based on their experiences.
