The Steering Committee of the International Sediment Initiative (ISI)will meet to discuss the main activities and projects of the Initiative, including the Global Evaluation of Sediment Transport GEST), as well as recent case studies on erosion and sedimentation problems.

The Advisory Board of the International Research and and Training Centre on Erosion and Sedimentation (IRTCES), a centre established in China under the auspices of UNESCO, will report on the work progress of the Centre.
