North American Surface Water Quality Conference
North American Surface Water Quality Conference
StormCon, Estados Unidos
Mon, 24/07/2006 / Thu, 27/07/2006
The United States’ Environmental Protection Agency’s National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Phase II permit programme impacts 5,000 communities. To meet these regulations, municipal professionals, state and federal government officials, consultants, developers, engineers and vendors need training that covers a wide range of techniques, tools, and knowledge areas. StormCon is a source of NPDES compliance training in all aspects of stormwater management. Some of the topics to be discussed during this conference are:
• Best Management Practices (BMPs) in practice: structural and non-structural best management practices, techniques, tools, and technology to achieve water-quality goals
• managing the Stormwater Programme: public education and outreach, funding, stormwater utilities
• comprehensive water quality monitoring: monitoring, sampling, assessment, tracking illicit discharges and pollutant sources
• research and testing of BMPs: technical track including methods for testing and comparing best management practices.
