Symposium ‘Current Challenges and Future of Hydrology’
Symposium ‘Current Challenges and Future of Hydrology’
Instituto UNESCO-IHE para la Educación relativa al Agua; Asociación Internacional de Ciencias Hidrológicas (IAHS)
Wed, 28/06/2006 / Wed, 28/06/2006
This symposium will review different areas of hydrology, analyze current challenges and discuss integrated approaches to tackle these challenges.
During the symposium the book ‘Hydrology 2020: An Integrated Science to Meet Water Challenges’ will be presented. This book, published by IAHS Press, considers the capability that hydrological sciences will and should have by 2020, and what needs to be addressed to achieve this. There is an emphasis on societal issues and interdisciplinary work pertinent to hydrology as hydrologists cannot and should not work in isolation from society and other scientific disciplines.
