2006 Summer Specialty Conference on Adaptive Management of Water Resources

This conference will explore adaptive management and the role of social science, including stakeholder participation, conflict resolution, socio-economic considerations, legal and policy barriers, institutional challenges, and agency frameworks and guidelines.
Session dialogue on barriers, challenges, solutions, key questions and issues are an important element of this conference. Adaptive management case studies associated with a variety of water resource aspects, projects and programmes will be presented including: riparian corridors, wetlands, watersheds, groundwater, infrastructure operations such as dams, water supply, climate change, drought, Total Maximum Daily Loads (TMDLs) and other eutrophication reduction strategies, stormwater management, riparian forests, water markets, aquatic endangered species recovery strategies, produced waters, agriculture conservation and several international case studies.
