A number of problems in the Bulgarian water sector will be discuss during this conference:
• completion of the Bulgarian water legislation in harmony with European Union directives and standards
• adoption of high-quality acts and regulations (water act; water supply and sanitation Act; sector-specific regulations)
• provision of financial resources for rehabilitation and building up of new water systems and facilities
• construction and operation of a great number (over 450) of water and wastewater treatment plants
• settlements’ sanitation
• flood assessment and management.
