Australian Water Summit Sydney 2006 ‘Progress and investment; identifying the priorities’

This summit will focus on the key strategic issues facing the water industry including updates of the activities and priorities of the National Water Commission, including guidance on implementation plans for the commitments by State, Territory and Australian Governments under the National Water Initiative and the development of a framework for the National Competition Policy assessments by the NWC, and progress on the implementation of the Australian Government Water Fund.
Key presentations will focus on areas critical to water reform including water accounting and measurement, water access entitlements, water trading, a knowledge strategy, groundwater management, urban water reform, the need for improved quality and consistency of socio-economic impact studies and adjustment assessment.
