Symposium on Free Passage for Aquatic fauna in Rivers and Other Water Bodies
Symposium on Free Passage for Aquatic fauna in Rivers and Other Water Bodies
Asociación Alemana del Agua, Aguas Residuales y Residuos (DWA)
Wed, 05/04/2006 / Thu, 06/04/2006
The free passage of water bodies is a vital precondition for maintaining the variety of fish species and their biological communities, which is why the European Union Water Frame Directive emphasizes that free passage is a hydromorphological quality component of flowing water bodies.
During this symposium, specialists will provide an overview of the free passage of water bodies for the aquatic fauna. Presentations will offer practical ideas for the planning, design and operation of functioning fish passages as well as effective installations for the protection of fish.
