2nd National Lake Victoria Environmental Management Project (LVEMP) Conference

The conference will provide a broad scientific view of environmental management and will also include sessions on issues of particular interest to stakeholders involved in managing the Lake Victoria ecosystem.
Some of the issues to be discussed are the following:
- landuse management: integrated soil and water conservation, pollution loading management, wetlands management
- Lake Victoria ecosystem management: quality assurance control, aquaculture, eutrophication, hydraulic conditions, sedimentation and sediment characteristics
- community participation: microprojects, socioeconomics, training and capacity building, community mobilization.
