Conference on Desalination and the Environment
International Water Association (IWA); Water Science and Technology Association; European Desalination Society - EDS
Sun, 22/05/2005 / Wed, 25/05/2005
This conference on desalination and the environment will be devoted to fresh water for all. With limited and depleting natural sources of water, desalination can supplement some of the critically lacking amounts of water needed for sustainability.
The conference will overview the most recent developments in desalination technology, its cost and extent of application including socio-economic and environmental issues. It will bring together research scientists, decision makers, engineers, managers, and operators from water companies, industries, government departments, consulting firms, research institutes and universities.
Why and when a country decides to integrate desalination into the national or regional water management plans will be the focal point of the conference.
