Sus objetivos son:; (i)to go deeper into the scientific questions related to water cycle and water balance in the Balkan catchments linked to the impacts of global climate and environment changes (trends, extreme events, droughts)and water management practices (storage in dams, use of groundwater), on water bodies (sea intrusion, destabilization of aquatic ecosystems)into specific problems of transboundary water resources (pollution, competitive uses, national policies, juridical and regulation aspects).; (ii)to promote a water observation and information system in free access via the Web on the real status of water resources/bodies including operational information on a regional, national and basin/sub basin levels, using Geographical Information Systems, Digital Elevation Models and Remote Sensing Techniques.
