Water demand and increasing pollution threaten the quality of many lakes, rivers, estuaries and groundwater bodies around the world and threaten serious public health, agricultural and industrial production, ecological functions and biodiversity.

The management of water resources has often dedicated to meet growing demand without having properly considered the need to protect water quality, ecosystems and the biodiversity that supplies it contains. The development and environmentally sustainable management of water resources is a critical and complex for rich and poor countries. Their difficulty often lies in the need to compensate balances social, economic and political.

The conference will cover many different aspects of water resources and its relation to poverty reduction as improvements in health, agricultural productivity, industrial and energy development and sustainable growth in the populations of the watersheds. The event will bring together engineers, scientists, coordinators, economists and health professionals to discuss all aspects related to water and the environment.
