In the Americas, a Regional Policy Dialog (RPD) on Water and Climate Change Adaptation has been working over the last two years to raise awareness, share experiences, and foster a shared and integrated vision among the water, climate change and development communities. The latest bus stop in this process is Marseilles, where participants will be able to share their ideas on whether climate change adaptation isn't just improved water resources management with a different name, and whether the priority for future attention should be better public policy, enhanced horizontal and vertical coordination between different entities and groups, or more focus on tangible actions that may be more flexible to cope with increasingly variable conditions. Two elements will be clearly highlighted in this integrated session: business-as-usual is no longer an option, and the time to act is now!
