The community of water stakeholders in the Mediterranean region, bearing in mind its geo-climatic and geo-political specificities, places governance and water demand management (WDM) at the top of the water policy agenda in the region. For water demand management, based on the solutions selected for specific sessions, commitments will be finalized for the setting up of efficiency strategies based on innovative and adapted instruments. For governance, based on the solutions selected for specific sessions, commitments for the setting up of an action plan for good governance will be finalized on several levels and in coherence with the interests of each stakeholder. The objective of this "sub-session", which brings together these two essential priorities for the establishment of the principles of integrated water resources management in all the countries in the Mediterranean region, will be to validate, for a common timeframe (for example 2020) two to four commitments from stakeholders to achieve the targets set over the chosen timeframe.
