The International Hydrology Prize is awarded annually to hydrologists who have made an outstanding contribution to the science. It is given by the International Association of Hydrological Sciences (IAHS) with the support of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). The award for 2005 was presented to Professor Gert Schultz in Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil on 4 April 2005 by Dr Arthur J. Askew, President of IAHS. The presentation was made on the occasion of the VIIth Scientific Assembly of the Association.
