Recently the project `Algal bloom early warning service´was initiated, with the aim of developing and demonstrating a service for forecasting when and where an algal bloom will occur. The service will be based on an algal bloom forecasting model (Delft3D-ECO) and chlorophyll concentration maps derived from satellite data. The pilot area is the Dutch coastal zone. The project is a collaboration between Argoss and WL | Delft Hydraulics and is funded by the Geomatics Business Park Synergy Plan.
