[12th Biennial Report on Great Lakes Water Quality]
The governments of Canada and the United States signed the first Great Lakes Water Quality Agreement in 1972. In this 12th Biennial Report on Great Lakes Water Quality, the International Joint Commission assesses the Parties' progress in implementing the Agreement by highlighting issues concluded to need timely and focused attention. The report analyzes and makes recommendations around the Agreement's theme of physical, biological and chemical integrity leading to an ecosystem approach to ecological integrity.
