The purpose of this document is to improve the quality and sustainability of rural water supply and sanitation (RWSS) investments financed under multisector community-based projects by providing task teams with guidelines and tools for designing, implementing, and monitoring and evaluating the RWSS components of these projects. The target audience includes Bank staff, government officials, consultants, and other practitioners who are involved in the preparation and implementation of community-driven development programmes.
