Droughts as a natural risk

[Droughts as a natural risk]

The phenomenon of the drought is, among the geographic uncertainties, the one that inflicts greater casualties of production in the regions without irrigation and, in many occasions, also in the ones with irrigation. These consequences are very well known by the producer; but also by the farming technician who must advise on the measures to mitigate its effects, and by the State that must plan, in an integrated form, the processes of diagnosis, evaluation and control of the risks.
