[Study on the agreement of cooperation among Latin America and Caribbean countries in relation with hydric systems and cross-border bodies of water.]

The aim of this work is to analyze the situation of the regional cooperation among Latin America and Caribbean countries on hydric systems and cross-border water bodies. The study is based on the agreements signed between the above mentioned countries. It has two parts. The first part is dedicated to the analysis of the existing procedure of the international law in the matter. The second one centres on the specific agreements of cooperation signed by the countries of the region. Six representative cases were selected. It pays attention to the creation of mixed permanent commissions entrusted of the execution of the mentioned agreements, to the mechanisms of solution of controversies and to the treatment of environmental aspects of water cross-border resources. Finally, some conclusions are outlined.
