After its approval, the Water Framework Directive (DMA), establishes a community frame for protectiion of the superficial continental waters, transition waters and coastal and underground ones, in order to anticipate or to reduce its pollution, to promote his sustainable use, to protect the environment, to improve the state of the aquatic ecosystems and to attenuate the effects of the floods and the droughts.
