The objective of this paper is to present how and in what measure, the private management of water supplying and sanitation can contribute advantages in the management of this service, also presenting, based on the experience of the Agbar Group in South and Centre America, the conditions that are needed to be sure that this participation will be advantageous in terms of efficiency, economy and quality in developing countries.
