Method for increase of water supply of water reservoirs for drinking purposes includes accumulation of water flow in reservoir, implementation of water intake for water supply through water intake facility, water supply to water supply system and discharge of water excess through water discharge structure. Higher than water reservoir in river flow one constructs flood-control - erosion-preventive pool and open discharge structure from pool to reservoir. Water intake facility is made of tower type with water intake openings placed at different levels of tower over the level of dead water. From water intake tower to hydro-unit of water supply system one makes water conduits equipped with mini-hydroelectric power plants.
